SANTA ON THE ROOFTOPS
Christmas Eve 2007

The efforts of all who helped with the event was much appreciated and over £230 was raised for local charities.

Santa Claus made his now traditional landing on the roof of the Pilot Inn much to the delight of the crowd below in Low Greens.
Later Santa, accompanied by three elves, walked among the children chatting and handing out sweets before going in to his grotto in the Pilot Inn.
As they queued outside to visit him mulled wine was served to the parents.

Carols being sung by a choir from the Berwick Middle School accompanied by Aubrey Sanderson and Dougal Moir on guitars helped to make it a wonderful evening with It was a happy gathering with children of all ages

John Thompson, resplendent in his rich red town criers uniform whipped up much
excitement in the youngsters as he gave a commentary on Santa’s approaching flight

and the sight of a babe in arms, six week old, Lewis Dixon, dressed in a little Santa suit warmed the heart.

Much fun was had on the carousel
operated by Matty Leiper

and the beautifully decorated windows in the Greens added to the atmosphere,
even the one with a Christmas tree under which lurked a puzzled and grumpy dog.
